One of my interests is book binding, box making and letterpress printing. Not that I have ever made any hand-bound books, but I love looking at them. I appreciate the hand made quality that these items have. The Center for the Book in San Francisco’s Design Center District offers such classes. Tonight I took a class in how to make Photopolymer Plates for letterpress. Although, I already know how to make PPP’s for metal clay, I wanted to learn about it from a letterpress printing perspective. It was very informative and made me want to take a class in letterpress. As for PPP’s seeing the “professional” way to make PPP’s was interesting, but much more complex and expensive than the in home method that we use for metal clay, but interesting none the less.
