Inspiration by the bay

Spent a couple of days with Steven’s sister Angie and her husband John. Decided to go the Monterey and Carmel by the Sea. It’s been years since I’ve visited there. When I worked as an event co-ordinator  at Macy’s I used visit there at least twice a year so it was nice to be back. Stayed at a great pet friendly B&B called the Carmel Country Inn it was nice because it was within walking distant of downtown Carmel. While there we explored the shops of Carmel and spied a spectacular sunset! I had forgotten how beautiful this place was!

When ever I see things that inspire me I make a mental note, but better yet if I have my camera I take a picture. At one shop, there were some spectacular Asian art pieces. Art from all over Asia. Check out the photos. I found a bowl of wonderful little spoons from India. See photo. They were, for the most, part exquisitely designed. I had a hard time picking just one. I though I usually don’t collect spoons I loved this one. With a cobra head handle. I immediately thought of a project that I need to make for the metal clay Masters Registry.  Also found a couple of wonderful henna stamps made of brass…another metal clay project waiting to happen! You just never know were  or when inspiration will hit!  Textures and shapes from a door, golden color of a Buddha, a pomegranate made of glass….Stay tuned.
